R.A.N Tip of The Week! Becoming An Artist Workshop w/Diana Daniels

Have you ever thought about becoming an artist and having people love your art as much as you do?

Everyone is invited to join Ms. Diana Daniels, self-taught artist in Staten Island at the Roc-A-Natural Cultural Foundation Inc in collaboration with Partnerships for Parks, NYC Green Fund and Community Partners at the Art In The Parks at Tappen Park event on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 11am to 6pm.

We are excited to have Ms. Daniels teach a workshop on how you can turn your desire, a blank canvas, and love of colors to create art, even if you don't think you have what it takes; she will inspire you to become the artist you want to be.

Ms. Daniels began her art journey after her retirement in 2011. In 2013, while working on a community creative arts project in collaboration with Wagner College and Syracuse University, in an effort to heal race relations between Black and Latino communities, she was given a blank canvas and brush by an artist who was also working on the same  project and had overheard Ms.  Daniels talking about her desire to paint. She said to Ms. Daniels  "go paint something anyone can paint".  Ms. Daniels did just that and has been painting ever since and has created over 100 pieces of art in the last 12 years. She has locally and Internationally sold her beloved art and currently has 2 pieces on display at the Art Lab 20th Annual Open Show at Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden.
