Be a part of the Staten Island Juneteenth Freedom Players to share the history and meaning of Juneteenth, the oldest freedom celebration in the United States, Freedom Day.
Casting Call for White Male for Overseer; Soldiers in the African-American Union Army; actors, singers, dancers and extras for Staten Island Juneteenth Freedom Players! Ages 10 and older; some experience required, but based on experience, a stipend will be provided!

Please be prepared to bring your monologue, dance or song to present.
Our performers are needed to continue to "edu-tain" the youth and overall communities through an historical re-enactment reading of the General Order No 3 and Emancipation Proclamation. And by
commemorating June 19, 1865 when the news of the liberation was announced in Texas, more than two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
The 3rd Annual Juneteenth Freedom Festival will be held at Tappen Park on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 11:00am to 6:00pm. The Re-enactment time TBD. The second performance TBD on Sunday, June 16, 2024.
Rehearsal dates will be set as soon as casting is completed. Rehearsals will be mandatory.
