Jourdan’s Journeys at Kwanzaa Celebration in Staten Island

I am ecstatic to welcome home Staten Island native Patricia E. (Leonard) Lewis and Vendor at the African Cultural Marketplace at the Kwanzaa Celebration: 7 Days, 7 Principles,  7 Communities event on Monday,  December 26, 2022.

Patricia recently completed her first book, Jourdan’s Journeys: A Dragonfly’s Journey to Strong Self-Esteem & Self-Image.  This is the first in her Jourdan’s Journeys series for children.  A former elementary school Literacy Ambassador and Reach Out and Read grassroots Library Development Coordinator, Patricia introduces Jourdan, an unlikely, unique and unbashful dragonfly to the world.   Jourdan connects the beauty and uniqueness of dragonflies to that of humans and lets his creativity help children think about ways they are different from others.  The book dissects the differences between self-esteem and self-image and comes with a hearty glossary and worksheet for children and their families.

The Jourdan’s Journeys series is Patricia E. Lewis’ commitment to provide relevant, timely content for young readers and families as they navigate experiences and challenges children face on a day-to-day basis (bullying, low-self-esteem, depression, suicide).  Jourdan’s Journeys: A Dragonfly’s Journey to Strong Self-Esteem & Self-Image will be available for purchase and autographed at the African Cultural Marketplace.  Also available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, the IngramSpark network and everywhere books are sold.
