R.A.N Tip of the Week! Benefits of Eating Dates

After watching The Magic Pill on Netflix in December 2019, I am more committed than ever to continue to alter my eating habits to a more healthier options which includes my sugar intake. In the documentary, they referenced sugar as being worse than cocaine. It causes diseases and feed cancer. Today for brunch, I decided to use Dates in my Homemade Sweet Potato Hash Browns. I sauteed in Coconut oil, added some Himalayan Pink Salt, Black Pepper, Cinnamon and a splash of Organic Blue Agave. Delicious! Here are six health benefits of dates: Dates are a source of antioxidants. All dates, fresh or dried, contain different types of antioxidants. of antioxidants. -Dates can be good for blood sugar balance. Diabetes researchers have shown that dates have a low glycemic impact. -Dates can help reduce blood pressure. -Dates contain a brain booster. -Dates help maintain bone mass. -They’re packed with fiber, potassium, niacin and also contain a small amount of iron. Note: A single date is 70 to 80 percent sugar, and one medjool date contains 16 grams of sugar and 67 calories. Eat four and you have 268 calories and 64 grams of sugar. That’s nothing to bat an eye at, so be mindful. "It's all about being in a natural state of mind" #rocanatural @rocanatural #rantipoftheweek #dates #alternatesugar #healthyeating
